Below is a list of some of the problems I've found with Hollyweb in my couple of months dealing with them. Considering the other alternatives I can really see no reason to choose them.

1) The major problem is that there are a large number of titles in their database which they no longer have for available. These seem to be older movies which they may have had at one time but no longer have copies of. They really should remove these from the database, or at least provide some indication that they are not available, but they haven't. I talked with someone at Hollyweb and they are aware of the problem, but have done nothing. A mention was made that a revamped website was on the way, but even if true, it would be trivial for them identify these titles in the current system. They could either be removed from view, or the "Rent" button could be replaced with "Unavailable", or even "Suggest" if there are some they want to let their customers vote on replacing. However, there is no excuse for being able to add movies to one's rental queue that they do not in fact have to rent. I found a fairly large number of these, and they seem to have no interest in correcting the situation. Lazy, misleading or deceptive, I really don't know - there are a number of fairly easy ways they could either remove or flag these "dead" titles. I had half of the 28 they checked manually for me turn up dead. They were mainly old and obscure titles, but I wouldn't be surprised if the dead rate on older stuff is 20-30%.

2) Towards the end of my Hollyweb experience, I had a few erroneous charges from them on my credit card. I was using the pay-per-rental Classic plan, at $5.30 per rental. I had 4 bogus charges over a two week period. The fourth came a couple of days after they had credited back the first three after explaining "A new employee is not as clear as could be hoped on some procedures". Not something that gives confidence in an operation I was already unhappy with.

3) They are the only company I've dealt with doesn't seem to have a contact phone number on the website. I tracked them down through the technical contact for their internet domain, Backup Manger Corp. I think the two are connected - the person I spoke to there was also involved with Hollyweb. He was quite informative, and I managed to get him to do some inventory checks, but it is still hit and miss whether I get email replies or not. Hollyweb easily has the worst customer service of the various rental companies I've dealt with.

4) At one time they apparently sold movies as well. The person I was talking to mentioned they don't do this anymore, but it is still described on the website. The site also refers to US members, but i don't know if they have a US presence or not.
